Photographing Hannah and Spencer's big day was such a delight for us! They chose to get married at the historic Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg, Florida. This was the first time I got the chance to visit Sunken Gardens as a wedding photographer, the grounds oozed with fresh inspiration for wedding photography - the perfect venue for a paradise garden wedding in St. Pete!
Kristen and I started the day photographing Hannah and Spencer at the Hyatt Place Downtown St. Pete. We got to photograph fantastic moments as the bridal parties interacted during preparations. Katie and Alex were planning their dream garden wedding at Sunken Gardens for a while. We were super excited to be a part of their planning as we got ready for their intimate family wedding. But, when the day came, a tropical storm put a hinder at their plans and they had to move their garden wedding indoors. Non the less, we were ready for it to make sure we helped them feel at ease and that we will be able to capture some beautiful pictures of the wedding. Sunken Gardens rightfully moved the ceremony indoors into their second floor banquet hall. The decorations were perfect and there was a nice backdrop of the gardens through their impressive, big windows. As the ceremony was getting to start, Kristen played the harp to set the mood and get everyone ready. During the ceremony, Katie and Alex filled out a Scrabble game with their names and their kids names - such a great idea! After the ceremony, we looked out and we saw there was a little break in the weather, so we headed out for some quick photos in the gardens. So glad we did! Overall, even though sometimes things may not go as planned, we are ready for any challenge that may arise and we will be there for you and help you through those challenges and still capture the loving memories. Here are some heartfelt words by Alex & Katie: "These people are superhumans!! I had no idea when we hired Jose and Kristen that they would end up being such an irreplaceable component in our wedding. Not only were they an excellent support in planning and the time leading up to the wedding but they bravely battled a tropical storm (and MANY other adversaries throughout the duration of our ceremony) right along with us. They felt like the family you’d choose... if you had a choice 😉I will be forever grateful for their teamwork, flexibility and perseverance. They saved my day!! Thank you is not enough❤️" Katie & Alex, Sunken Gardens Wedding That review made our day...maybe our year! We would love to be a part of your wedding :) Hi!!! Next month we have the wedding of Alex and Katie at the beautiful Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg, Florida. For Alex and Katie, St. Pete is their home town and they wanted to have an engagement session with some of the amazing murals found in St. Pete. We met at Sunken Gardens and took some photos at their sign, then we drove over to the "Greetings from St. Pete" mural by Derek Donnely from Saint Paint Arts where it started to rain on us, but we came prepared with some lighting equipment and umbrella for a cool shot. Then we headed to Bandit Coffee for another cool mural. By then the rain stopped and we were able to relax a little more without having to get wet lol. I had a blast with Alex and Katie and can't wait for their wedding coming up soon!
