It was a pleasure photographing Samantha and Scotty's wedding ceremony. They took their vows at Historic Dubsdread Ballroom in Orlando, Florida. It was such a joy to photograph a wedding at Historic Dubsdread Ballroom, and I couldn't wait to photograph there. All wedding stories begin with bridal prep and Samantha's story started at her house. She began getting her hair and make up done, those first few hours were the perfect way to start her story. Once all the prep had finished Samantha arrived at the ceremony in a limousine bus (with her bridesmaids and family) and took a deep breath as she made her way towards the venue. The ceremony was a fantastic service amongst close family and friends at Dubsdread outside terrace and Samantha and Scotty were in their element. Ceremonies like this make my career as a wedding photographer in a very enjoyable job. The reception was very warm, colorful and welcoming. The drinks flowed and the atmosphere was full of happiness and joy. I started photographing the story unfolding as the guests enjoyed the wedding and mingled. Everyone love a good fall wedding, and I'm no exception. The sun came out for the day, which was really nice to see, and it just meant everyone could get some fresh air on the day. Samantha and Scotty had scheduled speeches before the meal. Some of the best reactions are photographed whilst the speeches are being delivered...especially the speech from Samantha's dad who literally stole the show as he unraveled a long scroll when he got ready for his speech lol Everyone had a great laugh! At the end of the day, Samantha and Scotty rocked the dance floor accompanied by their guests, courtesy of the amazing team of Soundwave Entertainment DJs. You couldn't wish for a more perfect day for Samantha and Scotty! Take a peek at their wedding slideshow below and some of the photos from their day. This weekend we met up with Carolina and Ryan at Lake Mirror, in Downtown Lakeland for an engagement photo session experience. The weather looked like it was going to rain, but we still made it. Knowing how Florida is with it's ever changing weather and afternoon storms, I came prepared. Once we got to Lake Mirror, the sun had hidden behind the clouds and we got a little rain. We still made it through with some pretty epic photos! I've learned to always bring a clear umbrella for our sessions, especially if we are photographing in the afternoon. I'm glad I did on this one and was able to get a nice photo for Carolina and Ryan. Take a peek at some of the photos from Carolina and Ryan's engagement session! Last week we had the unique opportunity to work with some amazing wedding vendors from the Tampa Bay area. The reason? It's an uniquely designed venue with modern decor. This multi-functional space can be readily customized to create an intimate setting for small events, or wide-open for celebrations of any kind. One of their great features are the double chandeliers that illuminate a soft, natural light creating a one-of-a-kind backdrop for your wedding ceremony, reception and special event - a photographer's dream! We are privileged to be photographing one of their first weddings there later this year! As a wedding photographer, I get to visit many different cities to photograph beautiful couples as they join in love to start a new journey. One day, while photographing a wedding at the beautiful Magnolia Building in downtown Lakeland, it dawned on me...Lakeland is the perfect city for weddings in Florida. My mind was blown when I stepped onto the balcony and admired my surroundings. Three additional weddings were going on: one at Hollis Gardens, the Peggy Brown building, and at the Lake Mirror Promenade Loggia gates, just down the street from The Terrace Hotel. All four weddings were close enough, yet still very separate from each other. Each wedding had their own unique venue for their event. Keep in mind that these are just a few areas in Downtown Lakeland. There are many more gorgeous venues in Lakeland to host the perfect wedding that can fit many themes: rustic barn, industrial, gatsby, vintage, etc. So...why should you get married in Lakeland? Not only are you sure to find the ideal venue for your dream wedding, it is perfectly located in the middle of Tampa and Orlando, with quick access from I4. The area is rich with history, lakes, and diverse culture. There are tons of venues to choose from for every budget: from urban, industrial settings in downtown, to gardens, historic hotels, beautiful churches, ranches, barns and farms. Lakeland is the perfect city for weddings! If you are looking for a wedding photographer in Lakeland, look no further! My wife and I offer an unique wedding photography and harp music package that compares to no other. Contact us today to see how we can help you make your wedding dreams come true! |
