A few weeks ago I was at Kristin and Jason's wedding celebration as they were married at the First United Methodist Church in Sarasota. The church's decor and natural light was a fresh inspiration for photography. It is a delight to work as a wedding photographer in such beautiful churches filled with history and beauty.
When Kristin arrived at the wedding venue, Jason was already waiting inside. The ceremony celebrated at United Methodist Church was fantastic, the photographs I took of it definitely have a "love is in the air" vibe to them.
Kristin and Jason interacted freely with the guest at the reception venue, which was held at the University Park Country Club in Sarasota. The atmosphere at the reception was perfect for entertaining the guests. I began searching for moments that would help to tell the story of the day.
Everyone loves a good fall wedding, and I'm no exception. It was a lovely sunny day, which was really nice to see, and made the photographs really sing.
All the guests were keen not to miss the speeches. The speeches are a great part of the wedding and a joy to photograph as a wedding photographer. The evening began and the DJ definitely pulled it off, the wedding floor got crowded while the newlyweds were showing off their best moves.
Thank you Kristin and Jason for letting me be a part of your day and thank you so much for the sweet words you left for us on WeddingWire!
Enjoy some of the photos and video slideshow of their day below.

"Wow! I was planning an out of town wedding which can be tricky. But Photo Harp was hands down the easiest and most efficient vendor we had! From even the early days of emailing, he would always respond within the hour, usually in a few minutes. He answered my laundry list of questions, was flexible with the package we chose, and was able to capture some amazing moments. He was a joy to work with on the big day and we will cherish these photos for the rest of our lives! They are so stunning, some look like magazine editorials, some are traditional family portraits. A wonderful mix! Also, he has a tremendous gift for capturing those candid moments - those might be our favorite photos! Thanks again!" - Kristin
Abby and Chris had a fantastic wedding a couple of weeks ago. The couple chose Tampa Firefighters Museum in Downtown Tampa, a perfect location to celebrate their wedding, especially since Chris himself is a firefighter! I hadn't photographed a wedding at Tampa Firefighters Museum before, but photographing there brought out the artist in me so seamlessly. Being a wedding photographer is such a cool job because I get to work with amazing couples in fantastic locations like this.
Abby began getting ready for her wedding at Hilton Tampa Downtown so I went along to begin photographing her story. I really enjoy photographing bridal prep as it gives you a chance to get to know the bridal party a little better. My wife Kristen assisted me to photograph Chris's story as it began to unfold at Tampa Firefighters Museum.
The couple had a magical first look at the Hilton's plaza. I love first looks as it gives us an opportunity to capture such a special moment and spend some time together taking photos of the couple - freeing up time after the ceremony. After finishing the first look, Abby and Chris were driven to the venue in an elegant Uber. Abby and Chris tied the knot at Tampa Firefighters Museum and it was a emotional ceremony among family and friends as they were delighted by the sounds of the harp as played by my wife, harpist Kristen Elizabeth.
Abby and Chris shared some photo moments with the family after the ceremony before proceeding to the reception. The reception was full of energy and laughter. I started photographing the story unfolding as the guests relaxed and mingled. After the joy and laughter of the day, the only thing the guests had not done was dance. So they all took to the dance floor at the sound of some epic tunes by the amazing DJ by CJ.
I knew it was going to be a fantastic wedding when Abby and Chris booked us to photograph it and it was a joy to share it with them. Thank you Abby and Chris!!!! Check out some of the photos below while enjoying the beautiful slideshow!

The Florida Philharmonia Orchestra brought the crowd to its feet at their Step in Time concert in Lakeland!
The Florida Philharmonia Orchestra, based out of Lakeland Florida, is made out of local musicians who volunteer their talents to bring the love of music to the community. My wife Kristen, the harpist, is one of the many talented musicians that contributes to this unique orchestra. The musicians meet weekly for rehearsal and travel from all over Polk County including: Lakeland, Mulberry, Davenport, and Bartow. There are also some musicians that travel from Brandon, Valrico, and even Clermont.
On October 23, 2018, "The Phil", kicked off their third season with the a "Step in Time" highlighting pieces from Haydn, Strauss, and Rimsky-Korsakov, to name a few. I had the privilege to capture their concert through photographs.
All concerts performed by The Phil are free to attend and are hosted at the College Heights United Methodist Church. For more information about the orchestra and future concert dates, please visit their website.

Florida summers....gotta love them....right? (insert sarcastic emoji here hahaha) The heat, the humidity, the rain, the red tide, the flooding, the mosquitoes....the list can go on and on. With that said, due to the crazy weather we have here in Florida during the summer, it's generally a slow season for weddings. So, what do Florida wedding photographers do during the summer? For us is a time to reflect, organize, learn, and improve our skills and processes in order to provide a better photography (and music) experience for our clients!
Here's some cool things that we did during this slow wedding summer season:
As summer ends, we start getting busy again. What's next?
For weddings, this year we have a very busy fall schedule with over 10 weddings between October and December! We are super excited and looking forward to apply the things we worked on this summer and give our clients the best service possible for their wedding day.

As a wedding photographer, I get to visit many different cities to photograph beautiful couples as they join in love to start a new journey. One day, while photographing a wedding at the beautiful Magnolia Building in downtown Lakeland, it dawned on me...Lakeland is the perfect city for weddings in Florida. My mind was blown when I stepped onto the balcony and admired my surroundings. Three additional weddings were going on: one at Hollis Gardens, the Peggy Brown building, and at the Lake Mirror Promenade Loggia gates, just down the street from The Terrace Hotel. All four weddings were close enough, yet still very separate from each other. Each wedding had their own unique venue for their event. Keep in mind that these are just a few areas in Downtown Lakeland. There are many more gorgeous venues in Lakeland to host the perfect wedding that can fit many themes: rustic barn, industrial, gatsby, vintage, etc.
So...why should you get married in Lakeland? Not only are you sure to find the ideal venue for your dream wedding, it is perfectly located in the middle of Tampa and Orlando, with quick access from I4. The area is rich with history, lakes, and diverse culture. There are tons of venues to choose from for every budget: from urban, industrial settings in downtown, to gardens, historic hotels, beautiful churches, ranches, barns and farms. Lakeland is the perfect city for weddings!

Kayla and Kenny chose to get married at Phillippi Estate Park in Sarasota. It was my first visit to Phillippi Estate Park as a wedding photographer, it's a stylish venue that allowed me to bring the best of each moment.
One of my favorite moments of the day was when I was photographing Kayla getting ready at Edson Keith Mansion. I captured Kayla as she had her hair and makeup done. It was a perfect afternoon to photograph Kenny getting ready with his friends for the wedding.
Kayla and Kenny cemented their union in a very lovely ceremony at Phillippi Estate Park grounds just outside the mansion. My wife added the touch of romance for the ceremony with the sounds of the harp. I couldn't ask for a better job than being a Tampa Bay area wedding photographer and ceremonies like this one remind me why I do what I do.
After the ceremony the wedding party enjoyed a lovely reception at Edson Keith Mansion. The venue served drinks and everyone had an incredible time. I began searching for moments that would help to tell the story of the day.
Spring weddings let me get the best of each moment. It was a mainly cloudy day, making the light very soft, which is a godsend for a photographer. There was some rain later in the evening, which it means good luck!
Kayla and Kenny decided to have the speeches before the meal, so everybody sat down after the reception and awaited the speakers. You hear so many speeches doing this job, but they are always different. The only left to do was to get everyone on the dance floor and rock out to the tunes coming from the DJ!
It was a long time in the planning but Kayla and Kenny pulled off an incredible wedding and I hope they have a happy life together. Check out some photos and a video courtesy of Rod Baker Video.
